Malika Maminova (b. 1986 in Saint Petersburg, Russia) is a percussionist and performer based in Cologne.
Her work moves across orchestral and chamber music, contemporary repertoire and music theatre, shaped by an openness to diverse artistic formats and modes of performance. Alongside her work in established concert settings, she is interested in reimagining concert experiences and developing projects that connect different musical and performative languages.
She performs internationally as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician, appearing in both traditional concert programmes and interdisciplinary productions that explore new relationships between sound, space and performance.
Her artistic path includes collaborations with leading musicians such as Mariss Jansons, Peter Eötvös, Heinz Holliger, Steve Reich, Teodor Currentzis, Emilio Pomàrico, Georges Aperghis, Carola Bauckholt and Manos Tsangaris.
She studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, and at the Orchesterzentrum NRW, and gained further orchestral experience with ensembles including the ORF Academy, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra and musicAeterna Orchestra.
Malika is a member of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, known for its genre-crossing concert programmes and strong presence on international stages. With the ensemble she regularly performs in the Netherlands and internationally, including tours in China, Georgia, Benin and Austria.
In contemporary music, she has worked with ensembles such as Musikfabrik, Ensemble Garage, Ensemble Resonanz and Notabu Ensemble.
Her interdisciplinary practice also extends into theatre. She performs live music in "Der Schneesturm", a production by Kirill Serebrennikov created in collaboration with the Salzburg Festival and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.
She has appeared at major venues including the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Berlin Philharmonie, Cologne Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Wiener Konzerthaus, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Luxembourg, TivoliVredenburg Utrecht, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Philharmonie Essen and Prinzregententheater Munich.
Her festival appearances include Salzburg Festival, Acht Brücken, Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, Bregenzer Festspiele, November Music and Grachtenfestival Amsterdam.
