Malika Maminova (*1986) a native of Saint-Petersburg Russia, is a percussionist and performing artist based out of Germany and a universal player with a very wide range of musical interests. She performs internationally as an orchestral percussionist, chamber musician and soloist.

 

Malika's interests include baroque, contemporary, world music, improvisation, and many different types of modern art and expression.

 

Malika has worked with musicians such as Steve Reich, Teodor Currentzis, Peter Eötvös, Heinz Holliger, Emilio Pomarico, Georges Aperghis, Carola Bauckholt, Manos Tsangaris and others.

 

Malika graduated from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in percussion, spent four years as a member of the orchestra of the Chamber Opera Theatre “Saint Petersburg Opera” and collaborated with various academic orchestras in St Petersburg.

 

After continuing her education in Germany, she studied at the Detmold School of Music (Prof Peter Prommel), where she obtained a double Master's degree: in chamber music and as an orchestral musician at the Orchesterzentrum NRW.

 

Malika participated in the Dutch summer academy for young musicians in a large project under the direction of Steve Reich.

She participated in ORF-Academy of the Bavarian Radio, Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy, and is guest artist of the Bielefelder Philharmoniker.

 

Since 2015, Malika is a member of Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, one of the most recognised musical ensembles in Тhe Netherlands. Every year on 1 January the ensemble presents a unique New Year's Concert show on the main stage of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, which is broadcast on national television.

With the ensemble Malika regularly performs concerts in the Netherlands and has also been on tours in China, Georgia, Benin and Austria.

 

Malika has performed at venues such as the Cologne Philharmonic, Elbphilharmonie, Berliner Philharmonie, Luxembourg Philharmoniie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht, Vienna Konzerthaus, Prinzregenten Theater in Munich, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Philharmonie Essen and many others.

 

In the field of contemporary music, Malika collaborates with ensembles such as MusikFabrik and Ensemble Garage, Ensemble Resonanz , Notabu Ensemble.

 

Malika is a participant of festivals such as Acht Brücken, Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, Bregenzer Festspiele (Austria), SOU Festival (Tbilisi), November Music, Grachtenfestival (Amsterdam) and many others.
